TireOrbit is committed to making its website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Conformance status
TireOrbit conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We test continuously with automated tools and manual review. We are not yet fully tested against Level AAA, and some user-uploaded review content may not meet our internal standard until it is moderated.
What we do
- Semantic HTML, proper landmark regions, and ARIA only when native semantics fall short.
- Color contrast meeting WCAG AA in both light and dark themes.
- Visible focus indicators (2px Electric Blue ring), never
outline:none. - Touch targets of at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels (WCAG 2.5.8).
- Keyboard operability for every interactive control.
- Form fields with persistent labels, clear errors, and accessible authentication (allow paste, support passkeys).
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motionon every animated element. - Captions or transcripts for any video content.
- Continuous testing with axe-core in CI and Lighthouse accessibility scoring at or above 95.
Known limitations
We are aware of, and working on, the following:
- Some third-party widgets (embedded maps, BNPL flows) do not always meet our internal AA standard. We pin versions and re-test on every release.
- Customer-uploaded review images may not have alt text. We add alt text on moderation.
Compatibility
TireOrbit works with the latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, and with screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. Older browsers may show degraded styling but core functionality remains.
